Urban Sustainability Support Alliance
Welcome to the website of the Urban Sustainability Support Alliance (USSA) - a project that aims to help NSW councils progress towards sustainability.
The USSA is a partnership made up of organisations which, over 3 years, will:
- deliver training and professional development sessions;
- establish and maintain communication networks;
- share experiences and lessons learnt by councils in the journey towards sustainability;
- coordinate peer-to-peer learning programs; and
- develop tools and resources based on sound research and need.
The USSA project is coordinated by the Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW and is funded by the NSW Environmental Trust, through its Urban Sustainability Program (USP).
What is Urban Sustainability?
Urban Sustainability is about meeting the environmental needs of our local communities while encouraging current and future actions that aim for social, economic and environmental sustainability. This requires engagement of a wide range of stakeholders to build strong, effective partnerships to enable long term change.
On this site you will find:
- the lastest news relating to the USSA project;
- a list of upcoming USSA professional development opportunities;
- a resource database containing key sustainability resources;
- opportunities to implement the Sustainability Health Check;
- and case studies showcasing current sustainability projects.
This site will be progressively updated in the coming months.
