Water Loss Management ProgramThe Water Loss Management Program (WLMP) is a $22M joint initiative of the Local Government and Shires Associations (LGSA) of NSW, the Water Directorate with partial funding from the Australian Government (through the Water Smart Australia program). The project will support NSW Local Water Utilities' efforts to reduce leakage from their drinking water distribution systems by providing specialist knowledge and equipment to help local staff identify, develop and implement water saving projects. The program will aim to be flexible and integrate with local staff, timing and financial capabilities and constraints. "Water loss and distribution system leakage has been identified as a significant issue for NSW Local Water Utilities (LWUs). As much as 30% of some LWU's water can be "unaccounted for water".
