Case studies

This section showcases climate change mitigation and adaptation projects councils have undertaken to address climate change. You can view examples of some of the policies, plans and strategies developed by councils to address climate change.

Submit your case studies here!

Councils are invited to submit case studies to the Climate Change Action Pack. Other organisations, government agencies and businesses are also encouraged to submit a case studies if the outcomes of their projects can be applied to Local Government in NSW.

Councils are encouraged to submit case studies on any number of projects they have developed and at any time.

Templates to submit a case study and a guide to assist in completing the templates have been developed. To download a case study template or a guide, follow the links below:

Councils should ensure that a council logo and any relevant graphics are included in jpeg, tiff or eps format. Please submit case studies electronically to Amy Lovesey.

New project 

A new project, "Climate Change Action Planning for Local Government" is underway. The purpose of the project is to assist NSW local councils to prepare for and address climate change impacts in a stakeholder inclusive, strategic, risk-based manner. The project will involve the development of a workshop package for councils to use in undertaking workshops to plan a local climate change response. The project is funded by the NSW Environmental Trust and runs until 30 June 2010. Click here to find out more.
