Local Government & Planning Law at Southern Cross University
Southern Cross University has developed a short course for councillors and local government employees on local government and planning law.
Local Government & Planning Law has been specifically designed to provide background and knowledge of planning law to expand career options for council staff as well as enhance the knowledge of elected councillors so both gain a better understanding of planning law and planning issues.
The course comprises four units, of which three that are compulsory; legal research and writing, local government and planning law and consultation and participation. The remaining elective unit includes: law and government decision making; environmental law or mediation and dispute resolution.
Completing this course will give participants advance standing towards a number of degrees at Southern Cross University.
