I'd like to invite you all to attend the 2011 NSW Shires Association Conference.

This year we're focusing on the Modernisation of Local Government, looking at  ways to change and improve the sector for the benefit of local communities. As we work together to lobby both the State and Federal Government, we also need to consider the future and shape of Local Government in the years ahead.
This is more than just moving to One Association and achieving better outcomes for Local Government. It's about changing the way we think about our councils, our communities, our priorities and the way we communicate. This year our program steps 'outside the box' and looks imaginatively and insightfully at a range of new ideas, emerging media and possibilities for Local Government, way beyond 2011.

I encourage you to come along to this year's Conference and put forward fresh ideas, new possibilities and new inspiration. Now is the time to form a united front and highlight what we do best, and what important changes need to be made.
