Conference Program

The program seeks to involve tourism industry partners including the Tourism Industry Council, The Council of Tourism Associations, the Tourism Transport Forum and the Centre for Regional Tourism Development.

Presidents' Welcome Reception

The welcome function on the Wednesday night is at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, 597 High St, Penrith at 6pm and will showcase local Penrith musicians. 

Conference Dinner

Enjoy dinner in the Panthers Pavilion. Appreciate this unique atmosphere while networking with other industry members. The night will be one of good food, good company and unique entertainment. 

Rod Murdoch Awards

This year the Rod Murdoch Awards will be presented at the LGSA Tourism Conference Dinner.  The Rod Murdoch awards are presented by CTA (Council of Tourist Associations) of NSW each year to the local tourist association or visitor information centre which made the greatest contribution to tourism within New South Wales and to the individual who has made the greatest contribution to local tourism in New South Wales.  These awards were instituted in 1976 to honour the memory of the late Rod Murdoch, Secretary of the Department of Tourism, (now Tourism New South Wales).  For further information about the awards please contact CTA on 02 9967 5466. 

Unique Penrith Valley Tour

With the help of a tour guide and an air conditioned bus you will explore the unique sights that make Penrith Valley such a desirable destination. The tour will include a look at Penrith's river, mountains and lakes and in particular the Penrith Whitewater Stadium and Sydney International Regatta Centre.  This behind the scenes tour of Penrith Valley will not only be educational, it will also be interactive and lots of fun. Make sure that you pencil this session into your diary.

Dress Code

Business Attire or Smart Casual for Welcome Drinks on Wednesday 29 March and for the entire conference.  Lounge Suit required for the Conference Dinner on Thursday 30 March.
