Environmental Sustainability Commitment

The LGSA is committed to environmental sustainability at our events and conferences, to reduce the impact on the planet. Initiatives to "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" include a waste reduction policy, the use of glasses and water jugs rather than bottled water, and locally sourced produce for catering where possible. Natural ventilation is preferred over air conditioning and natural lighting is favoured. Delegates are encouraged to use sustainable transport and sponsors with environmental values are sought. This is formalised in the one page LGSA Principles and Guidelines for Event Sustainability (click here to view). This document is signed by the Secretary General of the LGSA and is reviewed annually. The most recent review was October 2011.
